細やかに大胆に Family Love

翌日は天王寺のゴッホ展へ（ハードスケジュールやぁ）売れない画家のゴッホを弟テオがサポートしたのは有名な話ですが、彼を本当に有名にしたのはテオの妻ヨーだったのです。ゴッホが残した絵画や大量の書簡、愛する兄の後を追うようにして亡くなった夫テオの言葉を元に、様々な人脈と先を読む力をフルに活用して、細やかかつ大胆な戦略でゴッホの作品の評価を高めていきます。彼女がいなければ日本でこんなにゴッホが親しまれることはなかったでしょう。彼女こそゴッホの熱烈なファンだったのです。ヨハンナ・ファン・ゴッホ＝ボンゲル

大きな成功の裏に女性ありとはよく言われます。ロダンの愛人カミーユ・クローデル、バッハの妻アンナ・マグダレータなど、多くの分野で歴史が再検証され、これまでは目立たない存在だった女性たちに光が当たり始めてきたのは嬉しい兆しです。

私もそのひとりになりたい

While it is widely known that Van Gogh's brother, Theo, supported the struggling painter, but it was his wife, Jo, who truly brought him fame.  With Van Gogh's paintings, letters, and her late husband's words, Jo followed in her beloved brother's footsteps.  She used her connections and foresight to make her brother-in-law being accepted by wide range of areas across the world.  Without her, Van Gogh would never have become so famous in Japan.  I have to say she was Van Gogh's most passionate fan. 

It's often said that "behind every great ashievement, there is a woman."  I'm glad that history is being re-evaluated in many fields, and that we are no more in behind.  

Yes, I'd love to be one of them...

But I know I'm the most bossy person in my family already.
